The Secretariat of the Arab Maghreb Union will take part in the third meeting of the cooperation between the African Regional Economic Communities (CER) and the African Union Border Program (PFUA) on 09 and 10 November in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.

The meeting was attended by the various regional economic communities in Africa. The meeting aims at discussing the progress made in the African Union Border Program and the role of the regional groupings in achieving the objectives of this program at the regional level for each grouping.

The first day of the meeting witnessed the presentation of African regional groupings for their border efforts during 2016-2017 and their future projects during 2018 in this area.

In this context, the representative of the Secretariat presented a paper on the efforts of the General Secretariat in the field of border management and the phases defined by the Maghreb cooperation in this regard as a way to achieve the desired Maghreb goal for a unified and integrated Maghreb to reach the African goal in a unified African continent with unrestricted freedom of movement .

The AU Border Program also provided a detailed report on the various phases and the latest steps taken in this regard.
